8525 & 8528 LSB Option

This Option is fairly straight forward and can be accomplished by most people.

By adding the crystal (Z3 1647KHz) to the RF Mixer - Dual Synth board which is 

located under the top (smaller) grey lid. Removal of this board is required to solder

the crystal in place. Once you have reassembled the radio and the crystal has been

allowed to cool, switch the radio ON, select a channel that has been programmed 

for LSB, using a frequency counter press and hold the "TUNE" button and adjust

C162 to frequency using an insulated tuning tool. If there is not enough adjustment

you may be required to change the value of C161 and try adjusting C162 again until

you are as close as possible to the correct frequency.

Always refer to your "Service Manual".

NOTE:- Reprogramming the eprom for each channel is requires for LSB operation,

or you could use the "P" channel option if you have the link and a TXE eprom already

installed. Make sure when the crystal is soldered in you also include the earth wire to 

the outside can on the crystal.
